Located along the North Carolina coast, Lumina Winery is a small winery dedicated to the production of quality wines. 0ur wine shop offers free wine tasting, selling by the glass, and internet sales. We also carry wine & beer kits for the home winemaker or brewer. Lune Blanc Chardonnay, Airlie Bianca Pinot Grigio, Peach-Apricot Chardonnay, Green Apple Riesling & Sweet Carlos are just some of our wines. Grapes or varietal grape juices from the world over are vinted under controlled conditions. After fermentation, the wine is filtered, bottled and aged. Our wines are meant to be consumed early so they contain low levels of sulphites (Less than 50 ppm) Sweet Carlos won a Silver Medal in the Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition held at the Regency Country Club at Dominion Valley in Prince William County, Virginia on July 21-22, 2007. Our Semi-Sweet Muscadine Noble took a Bronze Medal in the competition as well. With local brewing competitions coming up, now is the time to get started! Due to the hop shortage, it is expensive and difficult to acquire hops. The following is a list of hops that we have in stock: German Hallertau, Cascade, Challenger, Cluster, Perle, UK Fuggle, German Tettnang, Amarillo, Crystal, Willamette, Columbus, Sterling, and Mt. Hood. We have the following specialty grains: Munich Light, Pale Ale, Pilsner, Vienna, Acidulated, Bohemian Pilsner, Cara Amber, Cara Aroma, Cara Foam, Cara Hell, Cara Munich I, Cara Munich II, Cara Munich III, Cara Red, 120L Crystal, Larger, Victory, Maris Otter, 2 Row, Roasted, 20L Crystal, 49-64L Crystal, 20L Crystal, Pilsen, Belgian Buscuit, Chocolate, Black Patnet, Belgian Aromatic, 6 Row and Belgian Special B. We also have DME and Malt Syrup in stock. We have WYEAT American Ale and Irish Stout Liquid Yeast slap packs and White Labs American Lager, as well as a large selection of dried yeast. We will be happy to order anything else you may need.
New 2008 Hop Policy Due to the Hop shortage this year our company has been forced to establish a policy for hop sales that ensures that there will be a variety of hops for all of our brewing customers. Our company will only be allocated a total of 29 pounds of hops from our supplier for the rest of 2008. Therefore our new policy is that Only Customers Buying Malt from us will be allowed to purchase hops and only in the amount need to complete that recipe. Customers who have bought 50 pound bags of malt from us this year will be given special consideration. Most homebrew suppliers around the country have already adopted this same policy. Sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause. Lumina Winery Beer Club We are pleased to announce the formation of Lumina Winery's very own retail beer club. Our beer club is not in competition with any other beer club in town and has no association with any other club. The purpose of our beer club is two fold : 1) To increase customer patronage at our store 2) To offer our customers discounts to help out with the rising cost of brewing supplies. The concept of this club is very simple and similar to Sam's Club. You, the customer pays a $10 membership fee per year and are issued a 10% discount card good for that year. This membership fee will very quickly pay for itself. Other Benefits include : 1. Free entry fee and invitation into our invitational only homebrew contest in June. 2. Periodic club meetings where you can sample other brewer's beer and exchange information. Meetings are only open to members. 3. 10% discount on everything in our store on every visit! 4. Beer Club Membership Card. Lumina Winery is also pleased to announce the arrival of a large shipment of brewing supplies: We now have 70 Brewers Best Ingredient Kits in stock, including 2 new kits for summer: Witbier and Kolsch.
